Happy Birthday, Festival!

30 years have passed since that distant June 28th 1992, the day of the first concert of the International Guitar Festival. Nobody imagined that just that would be the beginning of this long adventure dedicated to the guitar, to music, to culture, to the general public following us all these years. They have been busy years but we have always managed to offer beautiful concerts with both nationally and internationally well-known artists.

This year the Festival will take place from Friday July 1 to Sunday July 10, 2022 with many new features:

the STRAW THEATER, a green project that will open the Festival in a different location in contact with nature;

the SERENATE project will back after the long pandemic break, with news on its itinerant path;

the XIII BIENNIAL LUTHERIE EXHIBITION will also back, dedicated to lutherie for guitar, with the possibility not only to visit the exhibition, but also to know the luthiers and play the instruments on exhibition.

The evening concerts will take place at the newly renovated Manzoni Auditorium. It’ll be an opportunity to listen to solo concerts and chamber music. Instead the closing concert of the Festival will be entrusted to the 40 FINGERS and will take place at the Einstein Arena.

The 28th International Competition of Musical Performance for Guitar will be the only online activity, in order to facilitate the participation of candidates from all over the world. The final round will be broadcast on our Facebook and YouTube channels.

All concerts will be open and free. For the opening concert, however, it’ll be necessary to book it on our website https://www.mottolafestival.com/it/concerti/prenotazioni-concerti

Only the closing concert of the Festival will be paid with presale on our website: https://www.mottolafestival.com/it/concerti/prenotazioni-concerti

SERENATE

A touring way full of guitar concerts or ensemble with guitar

Thanks to this format of musical offer, the listener will can choice soloist, group or musical genre to his liking.

The natural disposition of the so-called "Schiavonia", i.e. the Medieval Centre of Mottola, with its little squares, spaces obtained from the position of the whitewash houses, gives to the Festival the ideal frame for the achievement of "Serenate".

There are well 5 musical places, in each place will perform 2 musical groups that will play their own musical plans alternating themselves for 40 minutes.
